“Food noise” is such a trendy term right now, but what does that even mean? Most people who experience it instantly know EXACTLY what it means, and it resonates in their soul.
But here’s the issue…
There are 3 distinct types of food noise, and they each have a different cause and solution. What works for one type might actually make another type worse.
A lot of clinicians (including dietitians) don’t fully understand food noise and will say dismissive or inaccurate things like “It just means you’re hungry” or “That’s because you’re addicted to food.”
I’m going to walk you through the 3 types of food noise, what causes each one, and what to do about each one. (Spoiler: You can experience 2-3 types all at the same time…fun, I know.)
Hit play, and let’s do this!!
