How long do you think it would take you to list all of the things you believe you "should" do with food? What about if we add in exercise? Chances are, if you're like most people, the list is endless. We're constantly inundated with ideas and ideologies about what we need to do with our bodies to achieve a state of Utopia that frankly doesn't exist. When did we stop trusting our bodies? When did we stop believing that the knowledge we needed is contained within?
Your body has innate mechanisms for telling you when it's hungry and what it's hungry for. It also tells you when it's satisfied and full. You don't need external controls to tell you what and how much to eat.
Your body also has built in mechanisms to tell you when and how to move. Exercise can be play, and when it is you'll know what your body needs that day. Some days you might desire something high intensity that gets your heart rate up, and other days you might want something more gentle and relaxing. And there will certainly be days that you just need to rest and be still. All of these are acceptable.
The truth is no matter what you do or don't eat, and no matter if you do or don't exercise, you are still the same person with the same soul. The same wonderful you that the world needs and loves. It's ok to be who you genuinely are and to trust your body. It already contains all of the knowledge that you need regarding food and movement.
