As we step into 2026, I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of setting resolutions (you already know how I feel about those), I’m pulling back the curtain and sharing what I’m changing in my own life this year-both personally and professionally.
Today’s post is part reflection, part confession, and part strategic planning session. Some of these changes feel exciting. Some feel vulnerable. And a few feel downright uncomfortable.
But growth rarely happens inside our comfort zone.
Let’s talk about what’s shifting and why.
The Surgery That Forced Me to Pump the Brakes
Over Christmas break, I had surgery for a prolapsed bladder.
Six months ago, I never would have imagined talking about this publicly. But here we are.
The physical recovery has been one thing. The emotional and psychological recovery? That’s been something else entirely.
When you’re temporarily limited in your movement, everything gets louder: Your thoughts, fears, your identity tied to productivity.
The discomfort of not being able to “do” as much.
I’ve also been diagnosed with arthritis in my knee, which adds another layer to navigating movement in this season of life.
And here’s something that stood out in my medical care: I was automatically offered solutions that had nothing to do with weight loss. No one suggested shrinking my body as the fix. That experience reminded me how deeply weight stigma shapes so many medical conversations and how refreshing it is when it doesn’t.
Supporting My Health Without Sliding Back Into Diet Culture
Being less active during recovery could easily trigger diet culture thoughts:
- “Should I eat less?”
- “Should I restrict?”
- “Do I need to compensate?”
Instead, I’m doing the opposite. I’m focusing on adequate protein for healing, omega-3s to support inflammation, nourishment that helps my body repair. Not restriction.
Healing requires fuel. Period.
This season has been a powerful reminder that health isn’t about shrinking. It’s about supporting your body in what it’s going through.
Slowing Down to the Speed of Joy
If there’s one phrase guiding my personal life this year, it’s this: Slowing down to the speed of joy.
I’m building in more leisure, more white space, phone-free Sundays, more in-person connection.
In a world that is increasingly automated, optimized, and AI-driven, I’m craving more humanity-not less.
Rest isn’t laziness. It’s regulation. It’s healing. It’s sustainability. And honestly? It’s uncomfortable for someone who loves productivity.
The Big Business Shift: Non-Diet Academy Is Changing
Okay. Deep breath.
After five years of running live cohorts of Non-Diet Academy twice per year … I’m not doing live cohorts in 2026.
Let me be clear: I am not retiring the program.
Non-Diet Academy works. I have the data. I’ve watched women rebuild trust with their bodies, heal their relationship with food, and step off the dieting rollercoaster.
But I’m restructuring it in a way that creates more flexibility and accessibility, longer-term support, and sustainable growth for both my clients and myself.
The new structure allows for a six-month payment plan, making it more financially accessible than ever before. And yes, the introductory pricing reflects that shift.
This change feels both scary and exciting. If you’re a business owner, you know that pivoting something that works can feel risky. But sometimes evolution requires courage.
More In-Person Events & Human Connection
Another shift in my business this year: more in-person experiences.
In an increasingly digital world, real human connection feels like a radical act. Here’s what that looks like for my business in 2026:
- I hosted an in-person retreat in February.
- I’m prioritizing face-to-face conversations and leaning into community.
- I’m also delegating and outsourcing more administrative tasks so I can focus on deep conversations, strategy, creation, and impact.
Letting go of control is uncomfortable. But staying stuck in overwhelm isn’t sustainable.
A Secret Project for Dietitians & Health Professionals
If you’re a registered dietitian, therapist, or health professional, this part is for you.
Over the past year, I’ve seen how many providers feel completely tongue-tied when clients bring up disordered eating, body image struggles, chronic dieting, or emotional eating.
Many RDs were never properly trained in eating disorders or intuitive eating. And yet, these conversations come up constantly.
So I created new resources specifically for providers.
- A free guide, 10 Well-Intended Comments That Miss the Mark With Struggling Clients Because sometimes we mean well-but unintentionally reinforce shame.
- I’m launching a self-paced course worth 5 CEUs designed to help dietitians confidently work with eating disorders and disordered eating-even if it’s not their specialty. (More details coming soon. Click here to get updates!)
This feels like a natural extension of the work I’ve been doing inside the Rebuilding Trust With Your Body podcast and Non-Diet Academy.
Because when providers feel equipped, clients are better supported.
Taking Bigger Risks & Trusting Myself
If I’m being honest, 2026 feels like a year of:
- Bigger risks
- More vulnerability
- More delegation
- More embodiment
- Less hustle
Between surgery recovery, perimenopause changes, arthritis, and business pivots, I don’t always feel like myself physically. Some days I feel like a fish out of water.
But underneath that? There’s trust.
Trust that I have the right mentors, support system, team, and inner wisdom
This year isn’t about forcing outcomes. It’s about trusting the process.
You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out
If you’re entering 2026 feeling excited, scared, uncertain, hopeful – or all of the above – you’re not alone.
You don’t need a perfect resolution, a new diet, or a total life overhaul.
Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is slow down. Listen inward. Make one aligned shift at a time.
If this behind-the-scenes style post resonated with you, I’d genuinely love to hear from you. And if it didn’t? Tell me that too. This blog is for you.
As always, in case nobody has told you today: You are worthy just as you are.
