Meet Katy

Happy New Year’s Eve! As we wrap up the year, many people feel the pressure to set resolutions, especially around health, food, and fitness. After the holidays, there’s often a sense of needing to “make up for” indulgences or “get back on track.” But what if, instead of diving into the New Year with guilt or punishment, we approached it with compassion, curiosity, and a focus on sustainable change? In today’s episode of Rebuilding Trust With Your Body, we’ll explore how to break free from diet culture’s grip and create meaningful intentions for 2025.

We Discuss

  • Letting Go of “Making Up for” the Holidays
Many of us feel like we need to compensate for how we ate or the movement we missed over the holidays. However, this mindset comes from diet culture and sets us up for failure. Instead of punishing yourself or starting a restrictive cleanse, you can approach the New Year with self-compassion and reflection.
  • The Power of Reflection
Rather than jumping into resolutions, it’s helpful to reflect on the past year. What were your wins? How has your relationship with food, movement, and your body evolved in 2024? This process of non-judgmental reflection allows you to see your growth and identify areas for further self-care and healing.
  • Setting Intentions (Not Resolutions)
Intentions are different from resolutions. While resolutions focus on specific outcomes, intentions are about the process. This year, think about how you want your relationship with food and your body to feel. Setting small, actionable steps helps you create lasting, sustainable changes without the pressure of achieving a specific goal.
  • Practical Ways to Lean into Intuitive Eating
