Meet Katy

When your self-worth is tied to your weight it keeps you in a vicious cycle of battling food and your body. But what if you could really, truly believe that you are worthy no matter your size?

That’s what I discussed in episode 47 of the Rebuilding Trust with Your Body podcast with Carly Taylor, a woman I met inside my Intuitive Eating Made Easy FB group.

Carly shares how she was taught that her appetite was too much and her body was too big basically from the time that she was born. And she shares how she struggled for a long time with not liking or accepting her body, and how she was able to begin to recognize that she does have worth, no matter her size – and even though she has gained weight.

She also shares how she was taught not to trust her body or her appetite from a very young age, and how this led to low self-esteem, restrictive eating and poor body image all the way into adulthood.

It was when Carly started to realize that she is enough, just as she is, that she started to heal her relationship with food.

And because of this she has been able to navigate pregnancy, early motherhood, pandemic weight gain, and so many other challenges – while treating her body with kindness and compassion.

I know that so many of you will be able to relate to this, because that feeling of not being good enough tends to be the undercurrent when we struggle in our relationship with food and body image.

We feel like we aren’t worthy or attractive or acceptable unless we look a certain way or reach a certain weight.

And when we can heal ourselves from within and discover that we are and always have been worthy of love, acceptance, and belonging – that’s when we can truly heal our relationship with food.
