Meet Katy

Day after day clients come to my office and express their fears about being "overweight." They were fed the lies and believe the mythology.

The irony is that the behaviors used in an attempt to control our weight make us not only miserable but often less healthy. Despite clear and consistent evidence that dieting doesn't work, people keep doing it. No other industry with such a high failure rate would continue to succeed in making billions of dollars every year.

We were born with a genetically predetermined weight range that our body will naturally gravitate toward. Within this weight range our body will function normally (i.e. you will be healthy). This weight range has nothing to do with a BMI chart or any other standardized measure of what a person "should" weigh.

So, again, I challenge – overWHATweight? What if you let go of society's definition of health and started to trust your body? After all, it was designed to work for you. It just needs your cooperation and a little bit of love and respect.
