When I started my blog in 2014 I was posting every week day, Monday through Friday. It was an incredible experience in finding my voice, articulating my thoughts and beliefs, and putting content out there for the world to see (talk about vulnerability!). This was inspired by Seth Godin who blogs literally every single day, 365 days per year, and has sustained this for many years. He passionately encourages people to have an opinion and share it in writing.
While I still love the idea of writing every week day, it has become not only impractical for me but virtually impossible. You may have noticed that my posts have gotten less frequent since I had my first child nearly a year and a half ago.
In that time I have grappled with my roles as a mother, wife, clinician, and writer. And honestly, I have never felt so inadequate in my entire life. To be fully present for my child has meant that I needed to back off on my work.
Taking a step back from my work has helped me to clarify my trajectory. I feel rejuvenated and excited to continue growing myself professionally. I've also got a lot of new ideas in the pipeline!
So, while I'm creating incredible content to deliver to you soon in other formats, I am also choosing to revamp my blog.
You probably noticed it got a graphic design makeover and is more elegant.
I am going to be posting new content every Monday.
You can also find my guest blog posts every few weeks on Angie Viets' blog at Inspired Recovery.
