We live in a world that tells us to conform. Be the same as everybody else. Don't stand out.
Be thin…and toned. At the same time.
Wear the same fashion as your peer group.
If you're a female eat salads. Be on a diet. Bash your body. Never say anything positive about yourself.
If you're a male eat burgers. Don't get fat. And have a 6-pack (not beer, abs, but like beer too).
Go to college. Get a full-time job at a company that has benefits. Follow the company's rules – which are to dress the same as everyone else, do the tasks you are assigned in the manner you are told, think inside the box because outside the box scares them. Don't ruffle feathers.
We say we want to take risks but we don't. Most of us prefer to play it safe. And it's suffocating us.
STOP!!!
You are a work of art. Each of us has our own unique set of DNA, and our own wonderful gifts to offer the world.
By conforming we dismiss all of this.
We all become essentially the same and thus replaceable…forgettable.
Have the courage to be YOU. To embrace who you are – your body type, your food preferences, your interests, your creativity, your opinions. It's this uniqueness that makes you interesting, one-of-a-kind, and thus valuable.
Being you is always going to trump being just like everyone else, despite what the world tries to tell us.
