Normal eating IS…
- Eating when you are hungry
- Stopping when you are satisfied
- Consuming a variety of foods in the big picture
- Nourishing
- Relaxed and enjoyable
- Choosing foods that taste good
- Sometimes over- or undereating
- Trusting your body to tell you what it needs
Normal eating is NOT…
- Counting calories, points, grams, or any other metric
- Cutting out food groups
- Frequently or intentionally over- or undereating
- Telling yourself that you have an intolerance just to avoid a food
- Avoiding high calorie, high fat or high carb foods
- Eating foods you don't like just because they are allegedly good for you
- Based on a set of rules
These lists certainly aren't comprehensive.
