Meet Katy

Hey there, Katy here, and welcome back to Rebuilding Trust With Your Body, the podcast where we talk about learning to reconnect with your body, to listen to it, and to trust it. Because when we trust our bodies, we trust ourselves at a deeper level as human beings, and that’s a powerful thing.

Today we’re going to be talking about the constant hunger that you sometimes feel when you give up dieting. This is one of those things that is so common, and it can really freak people out. They’ll think, “Oh my gosh, this is what happens when I don’t control my food, and I’m going to eat myself into oblivion.”

And I can understand why you feel that way.

But it’s important for you to understand that this is a totally normal part of the process, and that controlling your food is probably what created this problem in the first place, so that’s not going to be a useful strategy for managing this.

I’m going to share a live training that I did inside my FB group a while back. In the training I walk you through reasons why the constant hunger sometimes happens, how long to expect it to last, and tips for meals and snacks to keep you satisfied (without the deprivation and while still honoring your cravings).

And even if you stopped dieting a long time ago, you know those random days where you’re just constantly hungry? Yeah, I have those too.

These strategies I’m going to share for pairing food together strategically would also apply for those days where you’re hungry nonstop. I really want to normalize this as a normal thing that happens to us as humans, and to reassure you that it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. The most important thing is to notice when it’s happening, to be curious about what your body is telling you, and to think about how you can respond with compassion and kindness towards your body.

I have a free resource that’s also going to help you with connecting to your hunger and your fullness. So hit pause and go download this guide really quick and come back to the episode. It’s at nondietacademy.com/hunger.

I talk about all this in detail in Episode 72 How To Deal With Constant Hunger When You Give Up Dieting!
