As the new year approaches we are gearing up for dieting season.  Over the past several years “detox” diets have become widely spread.  This is so ridiculous it’s laughable.  There are no “toxins” in your body that need to be eliminated.  That’s what your liver and kidneys are for.  They filter out waste and neutralize unwanted compounds – a built-in detoxification system. Don’t waste your money, time, or health on these pointless and potentially dangerous detox diets.  Devote your resources to things that actually enhance your wellbeing – connection with others, self care, activities that bring joy – things you value.  Trust your body to take care of the rest for you.
